三番王叻沙 Savage Restoran, Taman Ungku Tun Aminah

This is my second patronage to Savage. Get to know them from Facebook, however, the comments on food were quite extreme. For me, generally it is above average as the food is good and the boss and waitress are really polite. So, I am here again for the same food.

As you can see there is a standing fan, for your information, the dining is area is kinda warm.
Anyway, I can see the owner has tried to solve the issue by adding more fan to cool the area.
And, if I'm not mistaken they going to something to solve the problem efficiently. 

Dried Curry Noodles @ Rm6.00

Frankly, this is a bit different from my expectation.
I thought it should be full of gravy. LOL

The signature dish -- Savage Seafood and Tomato Noodle
三番王海鲜蕃茄面 @ RM6.50
Thick tomato flavoured soup with prawn and la-la. Seafood is fresh and abundant.
Don't worry that the tomato soup will give sourish taste, it is actually well-sweeten by the seafood.
The brownish floss is egg. I always see this in Singapore style fish head noodles.

It is recommended to complement with noodles.

This is my second order so I choose bihun. Still tasty as I like bihun more.
Can you see the tomato puree? How good it is for health. LOL

Savage has a lot more in their menu like laksa, black pepper udon, Taiwanese style minced meat with rice, snacks and desserts. Try out someday, I assure they always show highest respect to customers all the time.

癸巳年正月廿一柔佛古廟眾神出遊

今年的游神你參加了嗎？1870年開始，除了二戰時期1942年停辦一屆，新山柔佛古廟游神已經有超過140年的歷史了。如同往年般，今年的游神一樣盛大，據報導大約有30萬人參與。由行宮出發途徑新山市區共8公里的路程，你也在隊伍中嗎？很遺憾的是我今年沒有體驗這8公里的路程。參加過幾年，大約都要走6小時，可是一點都不嫌累，而且還很享受那種節慶的氣氛。新山人都說，正月廿一晚上五幫大老爺最大，一點都不誇張。而且這一天晚上絕對不下雨，每年都一樣。

位於阿福街的恭迎台，VIP所在處。今年有柔州州務大臣出席，我老爸還跟他握手呢！
順便一提，藝人張耀棟也有出席，但是我錯過了，沒看見他。

7點鐘準時從行宮出發，打頭陣的隊伍到達阿福街大概是晚上10點。街道上早已擠滿了人，人山人海，水洩不通，萬人空巷。。。用再多的成語都不夠，有機會一定要擠在人群中感受一下。

大旗是每年少不了的表演
這一幕有點驚險，旗勾著交通燈，這樣一來大家也可以想像這面旗有多大了吧。

每年五幫都會費盡心思設計花車，五幫指的是五個籍貫 -- 海南，廣東，客家，福建，潮州。五幫神明依序為 -- 趙大元帥，華光大帝，感天大帝，洪仙大帝，元天上帝。這五個籍貫佔了新山華人的大多數。
當晚的人真的很多，抬神轎的人大力搖晃神轎，大家跟著喊“興啊”，“發啊“。而神轎之所以牢固是因為用麻繩捆綁。每隔一段時間就得加水，這樣一來就會越搖越緊。

古廟就在阿福街隔鄰，游神進行的當兒主辦單位會在古廟燃放煙火，在阿福街的民眾可以清楚看到。
我在一年當中可以看到做多煙火的就是這一天了。

大約凌晨一點，阿福街交通燈前，隊伍的盡頭。

隨著大老爺回鑾，游神活動圓滿結束，農曆新年才算過完。這是新山人的精神。不管你是不是新山人，錯過了，還是沒參與過，歡迎你明年來見證這有百年曆史的盛事！記得，是每年的正月廿一。

又到了一年一度柔佛古廟眾神出遊的時候，很慶幸的是今年可以回到新山參加。新山人對游神的重視絕對不亞於農曆新年，這是一種精神的傳承，不延續就會消失了。所以，我也要盡一點綿力來推廣新山游神。

柔佛古廟眾神聖駕出遊 -- 國家非物質文化遺產
是的，古廟遊神已經正式成為我國非物質組的文化遺產之一。
現在，主辦單位正邁向申請世界文化遺產之路，希望有朝一日全世界都知道古廟有神，並一起推廣。

新山五幫神明分別為瓊幫趙大元帥，粵幫華光大帝，客幫感天大帝，閩幫感天大帝和潮幫元天上帝。游神前夕有個儀式叫做“洗街”，隊伍沿街鳴鑼灑水，簡單來說就是把街道清乾淨為聖駕出鑾做好準備。而這一天新山市區肯定會下雨，名副其實的“洗街”。之後，五幫老爺會移駕到俗稱神廠的行宮。正月廿晚上，大家可以到行宮去拜拜以及看表演。

現在大概很少人學傳統戲曲了吧，希望不要失傳才好。

對這個感到很新鮮，小提琴和二胡的結合。
順便一提，戲曲演奏大多都是現場的。

其實當天傍晚下了很大的雨，照片中可以看到現場大部分地方都沒有遮蓋，所以早前大家只好撐著傘。
很神奇的是，司儀說請求大老爺保佑，讓大雨停下來好讓善男信女可以順利到現場，十分鐘後大雨轉小然後漸漸停了。到行宮的人也越來越多，各種表演儀式也順利進行。真的是神明顯靈。

Matterhon Steak House, Taman Impian Emas

Again, this is another Groupon deal I bought. Matterhon Steak House is located in Taman Impian Emas. I always have a thought that this is a high-end fine dining restaurant by looking from outside. So, I decided to buy the deal and enjoy the food there. Please go to its Facebook page for further information.

I am a bit regret to have lunch rather than dinner.
End lot location with sunshine in is not a good combination with fine dining concept.
Anyway, this is my own thought. It would be pretty good at night with lighting, I guess.

I bought the deal for two pax at RM45 including appetiser, main course for two and dessert. 

Appetiser - Escargot @ RM15.90
In layman term, escargot is the snail. Hmm... Actually I never come across to have this but in the end I tried one.
No more again. It is well but I don't like it.

Porchini Mushroom Soup with Truffle Oil @ RM15.90
This is not included in the deal but we are recommended this.
Super big portion and super tasty. But you just can't have it too much.
It is thick and fragrant with a lot of mushroom.

Main Course - Grilled Chicken @ RM26.90
Served with mashed potato and black pepper sauce.
The meat is tender and juicy, I would like more if the sauce taste little more peppery.

Mixed Seafood Aglio Olio @ RM39.90
Served with grilled mussels, scallops and prawns.
Pasta is my all time favourite =)

Seafood Fried Rice @ RM29.90
Served with grilled mussels, scallops, prawns and fillets.
Fried rice is common dish but it really shows a chef 's experience in culinary.

Very heavy lunch of us. Damn full.

Dessert - Banana Pancake @ RM14.90
Hot pancake topped with sweet cream sauce and a scoop of ice-cream.
Very compatible combination, I like the pancake much.
Dessert is always girls' love.

Is it attractive enough? Matterhon serves wine also and I guess it would be nicer for dinner. Their service is at moderation, perhaps some of the waiters are new and nervous when serving customers. Waiters should be friendly and smile to customers so that we enjoy more and patronise again right? Haha... I am not saying they aren't good but still room for improvement. By the way, the man who helped us at ordering did well. Clap clap clap...

Grazia Cafe, Taman Sutera Utama

Everyone is busying with studies and work, feel glad that manage to catch up with my friends. I love the moment we spent together and share stories with each other, always.

It is brain-cracking sometimes to decide where to go because all sorts of cafe flooding in JB. My first visit to Grazia Cafe was few months ago and I was here again. The second patronage has surprised me a little as the layout has changed. Want to know more, please visit their Facebook fanpage.

Grazia Cafe mainly served pizza, sandwiches, pasta, cakes and coffee. Menu provides moderate choices of main course like pasta and baked rice. If you wish to grab a light meal, I recommend sandwiches and cakes.

My friend gave high rating for this. Just nice portion for ladies.

Mushroom Soup @ RM5.90 if I am not mistaken
Waitress recommended this and said this is not ready-made soup but their own recipe.
Mushrooms are cut into tiny pieces and you would find a lot in the soup.

I ordered this, turkey ham sandwich. @ RM14.90
You may choose bread, wheat bread, a kind of Italian bread which I forgot the name or add RM1 for croissant.
The croissant is considerable fluffy and the whole set looks very nice with its combination of colours.

Comes with fries and coleslaw,

Turkey ham, cheese, tomatoes and veggie stuffed in croissant.
Savoury sandwich is love!!
