Pulau Ketam, Selangor

My semester 6 has begun. Hectic life gonna start again. But before that we had little escape from the city by heading to Pulau Ketam. Little did I know about the island so I tagged along. Specially thanks to the friend who went twice but still willing to lead us there again.

Isn't hard to reach Jeti Pulau Ketam. You just have to take KTM to Pelabuhan Klang, which is the last station, you will see this after you alight.

As you can see, the ferry ticket rate  is there.

Waiting to board.
Another option to reach Pulau Ketam is by speed boat which charge RM10 /person.
The differences are the time consumed and comfortableness. I prefer speed boat which takes 20 minutes to reach and you may feel the breeze. Ferry takes 30 minutes and you will be seated in the air-conditioned space. But it did not give me comfortableness.

We are on the speed boat.
Can you see the ferry behind? The red and white one. It looked so like sinking. lol

Set off!!
We are heading to Pulau Ketam.
We reached there before noon and started to hunt for food. One thing that I do not know about Pulau Ketam before this is that no motorcycle is allow at the island. So I can only see people riding bicycle or walking everywhere. Even little children can ride on big bicycle. Very impressive. Other than that it is a bit similar to Kukup in their scene. Narrow road, house and etc. But it is bigger than Kukup and more people doing business in Pulau Ketam.

My friend recommended this which is also recommended by local.
I shall call this nasi lemak. Look simple but I like the taste.
After lunch,we started to look around the island. We rented bicycle too. Pulau Ketam has very simple village background. People there can have everything supplied from the mainland. Primary school and secondary school are there too. One interesting fact I found is there is quite a number of temple on the island. This might be the believe of islander as some of them are fisherman or boat builder. And, I would say ketam is everywhere. No wonder it is called Pulau Ketam.
Another group of youngsters took this for us in exchange of being their photographer too.

The day was sunny and rainy afterward. I was tanned!! Anyway, we went out again for dinner after we reached campus. A great and fun day with you all!!
